Walk the Past

Walk the Past creates self-guided scavenger hunts through local history. Each walk takes you to hidden landmarks, forgotten stories, and the places that shaped your town—one riddle at a time.

Every town has a past. Most of us walk right by it.

Walk the Past is a series of self-guided history walks. Part scavenger hunt, part walking tour, part time machine.

At each stop, you'll scan a QR code to unlock the story—then solve a riddle to find the next location. No guides, no schedules. Just you, your phone, and 300 years of hidden history.

We research local archives, talk to historical societies, and dig up the stories that don't make it into the guidebooks. Then we turn them into walks you can do anytime.

A portion of every purchase supports local historical preservation.

How It Works (For Any Town)

  • Buy a walk – Unlock all stops for a walking tour at one flat price ($7).

  • Go to the starting point – We'll tell you where and give you a passcode to use throughout the game.

  • Scan the QR code – Use your passcode at the scanned webpage to reveal a story and the next clue.

  • Solve the riddle– Find the next location.

  • Repeat – Until you've walked through history and your town.

  • Share – If you had fun, share the experience with a friend.
